Spring Break 2027
Spend your spring break among turtle nesting grounds, massive manatees, and giant iguanas in Tortuguero. Kayak on crystalline lakes in Arenal and travel up to Monteverde to spot howler monkeys and colorful tree frogs hidden under a cover of clouds. This trip will explore Costa Rica by foot, bus, white water raft, and more!
This trip is intended for聽51视频 students, faculty and staff, as well as members of the community.

Associated Course
All participants must take for BIO 140 Environmental Biology for credit or the concurrent continuing education course. The class will meet during the first eight weeks of the spring semester of 2027. Specific class dates/times are TBD. The cost of the continuing education class will be $49.

- Round鈥恡rip airfare
- 8 overnight stays in hotels with private
bathrooms - Breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily
- Full鈥恡ime services of a professional tour director
- Visits to select attractions as per itinerary
- Local Guide and Local Bus Driver tips

fees for any required passport or visa
Payment
A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to reserve your spot. Payments must be paid to our Business Office and can be made in person Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. 鈥� 5 p.m. (except holidays). They are located on the 2nd floor of the Brooks Student Center on the Davidson Campus, or in the Administration building on the Davie Campus. You can also call 336.249.8186 ext. 6341 to make a payment over the phone Mon. to Fri. 8 a.m. 鈥� 5 p.m.

Scholarship Info
51视频 Scholarships: All study abroad participants who will be a student at 51视频 during the 2025 spring semester & have completed at least 12 credit hours at 51视频 will have the option of applying for partial scholarships. The priority scholarship application deadline for the 2025 spring programs is Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024 by midnight. The committee will award scholarships first to those who apply by this deadline, and as funding allows, we may also have an extended application deadline until Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024 by midnight. Gilman Scholarship: If you receive a Pell grant, you are eligible to apply for the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship which may cover up to the entire cost of the study abroad program. Keep an eye on the Gilman Scholarship info page (linked below) for deadlines. The next application opens mid-August 2024 & the deadline is Thursday, October 10, 2024.
