Known for its vineyards and chateaus, Bordeaux is France鈥檚 second most popular tourist destination after Paris. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and its history dates back to Roman times. Bordeaux hosts many historical buildings and monuments, including the 12th-century Cathedral of Saint-Andr茅. Students from any NC community college are invited to apply for this program. Much of the program will consist of interacting with students from the University of Bordeaux. There will also be a variety of cultural excursions included in the program.

ASSOCIATED COURSE & VIRTUAL EXCHANGE

All participants must agree to participate in regular virtual exchange sessions with the students in France, starting in January 2026.聽 All students must take HUM 120 Cultural Studies. It may be taken as a 3-credit hour course or through continuing education.聽

PROGRAM FEE

$2,775

Fee includes:

  • Round-trip airfare
  • Accommodation in dorm rooms
  • Ground transportation
  • Breakfast
  • Academic and cultural activities
  • Excursions to select attractions as per itinerary
  • Insurance

*Each student selected for the program will automatically receive a $1,000 scholarship. The student’s college must agree to provide the scholarship.

  • 2/13 $200 (Non-refundable deposit)
  • 2/25 $515
  • 3/16 $515
  • 4/14 $515
  • 5/11 $515
  • 6/2 $515 Plus $1000 from each respective college

Students must complete the . Students accepted into the program will be notified in early December.

Scholarship Info

Each student selected will receive a $1,000 scholarship from the student鈥檚 home college. You must complete the separate Bordeaux Study Abroad Application to be considered.

Pell recipients also have the option of applying for a federal scholarship: the Benjamin A. Gilman scholarship, which could cover the entire cost of the program.
