You鈥檝e worked hard, stayed focused, and now it鈥檚 time to celebrate your achievements. This page has everything you need to finish strong, get ready for the ceremony, and celebrate your success.

Commencement Ceremony

2 p.m. | Health Sciences and Workforce & Community Engagement

Commencement聽is an outdoor ceremony. Both ceremonies will be聽held on the Davidson Campus in front of the Mendenhall Building.

Graduation Next Steps

1. Login to StormTrac

Check that your account has no outstanding balance. Any balance must be paid before graduation.

Go to the Graduation section, click your graduation application (next to the green check mark), and make any necessary edits to your name spelling and mailing address.

2. Complete the Commencement Participation Form

Whether you plan to participate in the ceremony or not, please complete the Ceremony Participation form.

3. Order Your Cap and Gown

Order online by March 26 and select 鈥渟hip to home.鈥 Your regalia typically arrives about five weeks after ordering.

4. Register for Commencement Photos

Photo Specialties will capture your moment as you receive your diploma cover, plus a formal portrait holding your diploma cover. Proofs will be emailed so you can share and celebrate your achievement!

5. Mark Your Calendar

Graduation is on Thursday, May 14. Get ready to walk across the stage and celebrate all your hard work!

Graduation information will come from the office of Student Engagement & Success via Graduation@davidsondavie.edu.

No. CCP staff will review your program evaluation and notify Records if you are eligible to graduate.

  • Davidson and Davie County Early College and Yadkin Valley Regional Career Academy students: Yes, you will complete your graduation application with your 51视频 advisor.
  • All other high school students: No, this step will be processed for you.

You must complete the Ceremony Participation Form by the deadline provided. Details will be sent to your 51视频 email and posted on the commencement webpage.

No, formal approval from your high school is not required to participate in college commencement. However, it鈥檚 a good idea to let your counselor know you鈥檒l be walking in the college ceremony.

Cap and gown ordering details will be posted on the commencement webpage and sent to your 51视频 email. CCP students order their regalia through the college, just like other graduates.

Yes, as long as it is black. Colored caps and gowns are not permitted.

Yes, as long as it is black and the tassel is for current graduation year.

Most students wear school-appropriate clothing, such as a nice shirt or blouse with dress pants, a skirt, or a simple dress, and comfortable shoes for walking across the stage.

No. There are no additional cords or stoles specifically for Career and College Promise students.

No. Only official college regalia may be worn during the commencement ceremony.

No, tickets are not required. All family and friends are welcome to attend.

No, there is no limit on guests; however, seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

No, there is no rehearsal for commencement, but we will offer information sessions before the ceremony to help you get ready. These sessions will go over everything you need to know – like where to go, when to arrive, how lineup works, and other important details. We strongly encourage you to attend. Dates, times, and additional information will be sent to your 51视频 email and posted on the Graduation webpage.

You will receive a diploma or certificate for each credential you鈥檝e earned. However, during the commencement ceremony, only one credential will be announced. You can choose which one you would like to walk with by marking your choice on the Ceremony Participation Form.

The ceremony typically lasts about 1.5 – 2 hours.

No. Diplomas are mailed to you once graduation has been officially processed. This generally takes about six weeks after the end of the term.
