Under a grant funded by the NC General Assembly, the Legacy Program at 51视频 is dedicated to empowering, supporting, and equipping men of color with the tools necessary for academic, professional, and personal success. Through meaningful connections, tailored resources, and a commitment to fostering a culturally responsive environment, the program ensures that every participant can thrive during their time at 51视频 and beyond.
Our Mission
We aim to create a community that uplifts and supports men of color through mentorship, leadership development, and academic excellence. The Legacy Program is a space where individuals can connect, grow, and confidently pursue their goals in a safe, inclusive environment.
Services We Provide
Mentorship & Networking
Our program pairs students with faculty, staff, and community mentors who are passionate about helping men of color succeed. Mentees receive personalized guidance on academic success, career planning, and personal development. Regular networking events connect participants with successful professionals of color who share insights and strategies for overcoming barriers.
Workshops & Leadership Development
We offer a range of workshops and seminars designed to build leadership skills, enhance emotional intelligence, and develop key competencies for navigating today鈥檚 professional and academic environments. Our sessions focus on everything from financial literacy to time management, conflict resolution, and public speaking.
Cultural Enrichment & Community Engagement
We believe that embracing cultural identity and giving back to the community are essential components of success. The program hosts cultural heritage celebrations, community service opportunities, and events that encourage participants to explore and take pride in their heritage while building connections with others.
Academic Support
Success in the classroom is a top priority. Our students have access to tutoring, study groups, and workshops tailored to their academic needs. Additionally, participants can receive guidance on course selection, navigating campus resources, and managing academic pressures.
