DCCC Online Paramedic Programs Rank Second in the Nation

In a recent ranking by , Davidson County Community College鈥檚 online paramedic programs are second in the entire nation. The  website states that its ranking methodology evaluates schools 鈥渙n the merits of academic strengths, positive student outcomes, course offerings, and virtual classroom experience for online students.鈥

The ranking highlights DCCC鈥檚 various paramedic programs, including EMT certifications and an Associate in Applied Science degree, which has a traditional option for students without career experience in the field and a bridge option for currently credentialed paramedics seeking the degree. Some online courses include classroom lab time, hands-on experience with the tools used by professionals, and scenarios encountered on the job.

鈥淲e are extremely pleased to be recognized as one of the top programs in the nation,鈥 says Rose McDaniel, dean in the School of Health, Wellness, and Public Safety. 鈥淥ur online and hybrid offerings provide both full-time students and professionals the opportunity to advance their knowledge in a timeframe that works with their schedule and goals.鈥

Davidson County Community College鈥檚 paramedic programs help train some of the community鈥檚 most critical first responders. Paramedics are often called to the scene for a full spectrum of emergencies: police matters, fires, traffic accidents, and natural disasters.

The College recently hired John Freudenberg, EMS program director. Freudenberg brings more than 25 years of experience as a paramedic to the role.

鈥淒CCC鈥檚 EMS and public safety programs help to train and equip the people communities rely on most to help during moments of distress and crisis,鈥 says Freudenberg. 鈥淲e don鈥檛 take that responsibility lightly and are proud to be recognized for the continued efforts of our staff.鈥
