Once seen as the most glamorous role in narcotic cases, undercover operations are just another tool for successful prosecutions.聽 Times have changed, and an officer鈥檚 understanding of what can be accomplished through undercover work must be current.聽 This 8-hour class will explain the safe techniques utilized for proper undercover operations resulting in asset seizures, ranging from operational plans, to contingency plans, to officer rescue techniques.聽 Cover stories, identification, and warning signs will be discussed.聽 Case studies will demonstrate proper and improper methods of undercover work, as well as common mistakes made by undercover officers.聽 Undercover work does not mean just buying dope; 鈥渁ny dope can buy dope.鈥澛� Working undercover is a matter of perception and persuasion.聽 The same techniques are necessary when testifying in front of a jury.聽 Knowing when to utilize which skills can be crucial.
