Childcare Academy

51视频 Childcare Academies are a shortened intensive training and certification that prepare participants for careers in child care at no cost. These courses are intended for those interested in working in the childcare field, not for those already working as a childcare provider.

Information about Childcare Academy:

• Grant funding covers all tuition and materials! Zero cost!
• Six week course running Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on the Davidson campus.
• Training covers the following topics and certification:
  • CPR/first aid
  • Health and safety
  • Infant/toddler safe sleep
  • Sudden infant death syndrome
  • Playground safety
  • Recognizing and responding to suspicions of child maltreatment
  • Participants also receive certification and support in completing required NCDHHS criminal background checks (needed for employment)
• Successful completion can result in credit toward additional childcare credentials at Davidson Davie Community College!
• Childcare during training sessions and transportation to campus are not provided.
