Central Sterile Processing

Central Sterile Processing

The Central Sterile Processing curriculum is designed to prepare individuals for the field of Sterile Processing and Central Service Supply. Students will develop skills necessary to properly disinfect, prepare, process, store, and issue both sterile and nonsterile supplies and equipment for patient care. Students will also learn to operate sterilizing units and monitor effectiveness of the sterilization process. Employment opportunities include surgery centers, dialysis facilities, and central processing units in hospitals.

This is a 12-week course that will prepare you for immediate entry into the workforce. The course will include a combination of online work and in-person lab meetings. It is important that students taking the course have access to the Internet and a computer to access information as well as load/submit work. In-person meetings will be at the Davie campus (located in Mocksville, NC). There are no clinical hours associated with the program.聽 Once hired, an orientation and/or continued training will be provided by the employer.
